As a gun owner, I could not elaborate on the frame of mind of someone who does not own a gun of any kind. I would like to state first my thoughts:
- I do not believe in the term "Assault Rifle". This implies that it is specific that a certain rifle can only be identified as assault. Anything can be added with assault as an identifier if used in a certain fashion.
- I do not believe that reduction in amount of ammunition a weapon can hold changes its threat. Simply reloading can rectify this rule. I have researched and found "rushing" an armed person during reloading is not an acceptable way of controlling the threat.
- More laws? I know everyone is aware that bodily harm or murder is already a law. Are we following the laws already written as intended? Are we focusing on creating laws that are not aiming to the root cause but a symptom?
- Why is the focus on rifles when more murders are caused by handguns?
I believe in our second amendment and will defend it. Our right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
I also believe that every life is precious and deserves the best chances at Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
I will be adding and elaborating on this issue as the campaign moves forward. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please go to contact section and submit If you have suggestions, sources, or ideas.
